Non-Degree / Dates: 24-28 July 2023

The course is intended to contribute to the participants’ understanding of social enterprises in order to promote social inclusion in the community in a sustainable way combining entrepreneurship skills with social responsibility. The participants are expected to develop their own social projects during the course.

After the course, the participant has acquired knowledge about the characteristic of social enterprises, is able to combine business and social aspects and has improved his /her professional skills to use methods of business development and marketing in order to establish social enterprises.

Teacher(s)

Zsolt Bugarszki, PhD, is a Hungarian social worker and expert of social policy. He has spent more than 20 years with the development of community-based services in different countries, and lately in Estonia works on innovative solutions how to use modern technology, ICT tools and economic models to support vulnerable people in the community.

Audrone Urmanaviciene, PhD, is a lecturer of social entrepreneurship at Tallinn University. She has PhD in Management Science. Audrone’s researching interests are social enterprise, social impact and social impact assessment. She is a member of EMES – an international research network for social enterprises. She is also the Communication Manager in COST network project “Multi-disciplinary innovation for social change”.

Timetable

Real-time video lectures in Zoom every day between 10:00 am and 01:00 pm (including a small break) while project plans will be developed in small groups independently (Ensure you have a stable and reliable internet connection).

Participants

This course is suitable for students and specialists from social work or related fields (health, psychology, sociology, education etc).  The preconditions (education level, work experience etc) for the participation are not required.

Credit points

During the course, students will create their own plan for social enterprises combining skills and knowledges from different study fields. Upon full participation and completion of course work students will be awarded 3 ECTS points and a certificate of completion.

Course fee

The course is partially funded by project, and participants only need to pay the registration fee of 150 EUR.

Students from KINESIS partner universities are exempted from the registration fee (there are some free places for partner universities and participants are selected based on a letter of motivation).

NB! The registration deadline for this course is 15 June. The students are required to add a letter of motivation stating their interest and motivation in participation in the course.
